Billing
It is very important that you understand the financial
arrangements for your medical and surgical care. The
fees at Women's OB-GYN, P.C. are set by the physicians.The
Administrator oversees the collection of those fees.
Patients are responsible for payment at the time of
their appointment. If you have insurance or governmental
reimbursement, you should work with your carrier or governmental
agency for your compensation.
We realize you may not be able to pay your medical
expenses in full at the time of service. We are happy
to work out a payment plan with you. Simply call the
office at 989-792-7020 to arrange a schedule of regular
payments.
Credit Policies
Our credit policies follow. If you have any questions
about policies or fees, please do not hesitate to ask.
1. Office Calls
We ask that all office calls be paid in full at the
time of the visit.
2. Obstetrical Care
If you have no insurance, our full fee is to be paid
prior to delivery. Any amount not covered by your insurance
should also be paid prior to delivery. Our office will
help in arranging a payment plan.
3. Surgical Fees
If you are unable to pay your surgical bill within
90 days, please contact our Billing Department to work
out a payment schedule.
4. Rebilling Charges
Patients who pay promptly should not bear the extra
expense of collecting past due accounts. A rebilling
charge of $2.00 per month will be added to those account
90 days or more past due.
Insurance
After a surgical or obstetrical procedure, Women's
OB-GYN, P.C. automatically completes a standard insurance
form. All insurance companies accept this form, so you
will not need to send us your own insurance form. Whenever
it is possible, we will send this form directly to your
insurance company. If we do not have your insurance company's
address, the form will be sent to you. You should then
forward it to your insurance company or to your employer.
Women's OB-GYN, P.C. will send you a statement each
month until your account is paid in full.
Participating Insurance Carriers
Women's OB-GYN, P.C. participates with Blue Cross/Blue
Shield of Michigan, Health Plus, Medicare, Blue Care
Network, PPOM and M-Care. The amounts these companies
pay us will be accepted as payment in full. However,
patients will be responsible for any services not covered
under their contract or for services rejected by insurance.
Patients are also responsible for any co-pay or deductible
amounts. If your insurance carrier requires a referral
for our services or precertification for any services,
inpatient or outpatient, you will need to notify them
directly prior to these services.
Deposits
If a patient does not have insurance or if a service
is not covered by insurance, we ask for a deposit prior
to rendering that service. Someone from our Billing Department
will assist you in setting up a payment plan for the
remaining balance due.
Obstetrical Services
If you have no insurance, you will be asked to pay
a $250.00 deposit before your first visit with us. The
balance of the total fees will be due in full before
delivery. Please contact our billing department to arrange
a payment plan.
Sterilization
All insurance companies do not cover this surgical
procedure. If your policy does not cover this procedure,
you will be asked to pay the entire fee before your surgery.
Miscellaneous
1. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard
and Discover Card.
2. Any overpayment by you or your insurance company
will be refunded promptly.
3. Lab tests - such as blood work, Pap smears and
other tests - ordered by Women's OB-GYN, P.C. will be
billed by the laboratory. Any questions you may have
with these bills should be directed to the lab that performed
the test.
4. If you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, please
call prior to that time to reschedule. If you fail to
show up without notification for three consecutive appointments,
we will no longer be able to accept you as a patient.
5. If you have questions regarding your account, please
contact the Billing Department at 989-792-7020. If your
account has been turned over to a collection agency,
Women's OB-GYN will no longer be able to grant you medical
services.
